Position Title: Career Coach Department: Youth Employment
Reports To: Director of Youth Employment

Position Summary The
Part Time Career Coach will be responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of all Youth employment department services programs within assigned borough/PAL Center. Must be willing to travel throughout the five boroughs on trips with participants. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to attend local and out of state trips as well as some weekend events. The Career Coach must be well organized and must be proficient in reading, writing and critical thinking skills. Expected to maintain a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for participants and visitors at all times.
Major Duties & Responsibilities - Plan and implement overall program within a borough & PAL Center. Deliver educational, leadership, job readiness activities and special events for adolescents.
- Ongoing recruitment, orientation and registration of participants, as needed.
- Provide direct service including outreach, instruction and guidance.
- Evaluate participant performance and achievement utilizing Youth Employment Department. tools
- Maintain clear and organized records, including weekly schedules, daily attendance, student folders and case management reports.
- Collect all necessary data for compliance with funding sources and internal systems.
- Explore and make recommendations about opportunities to expand and improve programming.
- Attend professional development and program improvement training sessions.
- Maintain consistent communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Remain current regarding the best practices in the fields of workforce development
Qualifications Education & Experience: - Associate Degree Required
- Bachelor's Degree a plus
Skills & Knowledge - Workshop facilitation experience; lesson planning a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and follow through on commitments.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with diverse groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new software systems.
- Social media, marketing, and research skills a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to run adolescent programs in compliance with funding sources and contracts;
- Research, data entry and basic computer skills required. (Social Media and Marketing skills a plus)
Location: Department of Youth Employment - Queens, Manhattan, Bronx Hours: Monday-Friday 11:00am - 7:00pm
