Estimator - Construction / Xactimate
About the Role We are a well-established public adjusting firm dedicated to representing property owners after significant loss events. Our team works exclusively on behalf of policyholders to ensure claim valuations are accurate, well-documented, and fully supported. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to play a critical role in the preparation and support of property damage claims.
Position Overview This position is responsible for evaluating property damage and developing detailed, defensible repair estimates that support insurance claims. The Estimator serves as a technical expert, combining construction knowledge with advanced Xactimate proficiency to clearly define the scope of loss and associated costs. This role works in close coordination with Public Adjusters and internal staff to ensure estimates align with overall claim strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties to evaluate damage
Identify and document the full scope of structural and material loss
Prepare accurate repair and replacement estimates using Xactimate
Utilize digital tools, including 3D imaging and cloud-based platforms, to document and organize claim files
Review contractor estimates and proposals for accuracy and scope alignment
Support Public Adjusters by providing clear, well-supported estimating documentation
Manage multiple assignments while maintaining detailed, organized records
Required Experience & Skills
Xactimate Level 3 Certification
Strong construction background with working knowledge of current building practices and pricing
Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and online file-sharing platforms
Willingness and ability to travel to inspection sites as needed
Professional presence, reliability, and collaborative attitude
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in property claims, restoration, or public adjusting
Experience using Matterport or similar 3D documentation technology
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
