Job Title: Motor Mechanic

Job Description

The Motor Mechanic will work in a shop environment focusing on mechanical assembly and disassembly of 3 phase and single phase AC/DC motors. Responsibilities include marking and reassembling motors, performing specific welding tasks, and following shop SOPs for motor tear down and rebuild. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and testing electromechanical equipment, ensuring safe and reliable service, and contributing to operational success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test electromechanical equipment using AC/DC methods.
  • Disassemble motors and note parts for proper reassembly.
  • Perform welding tasks specific to motor repairs.
  • Operate shop and lifting equipment safely.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean work area and assist with other duties as assigned.
  • Replace or repair worn mechanical and electrical parts.
  • Retest reassembled equipment for proper operation.
  • Use proper protective gear and observe safety procedures.
  • Lift, rig, and secure heavy objects using overhead cranes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechatronics degree or similar vocational school degree preferred.
  • Experience with welding and motor repair.
  • Capability to perform minor weld repairs.
  • Knowledge of power transmission systems.

Work Environment

The job is set in a shop atmosphere, with work performed independently or in small teams. It is similar to a mechanic shop with various moving parts, tools, and equipment. The role is for the 2nd shift, working Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, with potential overtime as needed. Tools are provided, though employees may bring their own basic hand tools if preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $68640.00/yr.

Direct hire opportunity Ability to grow and transfer into different divisions of the company Benefits; Capital Blue: It’s a high deductible plan. Company pays the majority of the premium. Employee is responsible for $300 annual premium only. The deductible is $13,300 but the employee is only responsible for $3200 if married and $1500 if single. Company pays the rest. Position starts with 10 vacation days. 1 day per year is added up to a maximum of 20 days 5 Personal time off days per year. 7 paid holidays 401K and ESOP – guaranteed 2% of annual salary is contributed annually by the company but historically since the company has been profitable has been 25% . The employee has the option to contribute weekly from their pay as well if they like.
