WOMEN'S CLUB ICE HOCKEY COACH - CLUB SPORTS

Work Days: Varies located on the business need.

Women's Club Ice Hockey Coach

Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, temporary

manager: Director of Student Activities

Position purpose: The Women's Club Ice hockey Coach coaches, manages, and develops a competitive Club Ice Hockey team (non-varsity, Independent Women's Club Hockey League member). Maintains and demonstrates a positive, collaborative spirit to work with the team, and a passion for the sport.

Essential Responsibilities and tasks:

» Coaching: Demonstrates effective teaching methods and possesses excellent leadership abilities. Designs coaching strategies and develops cohesive team mentality. Builds and maintains strong relationships with student athletes. Ensures the medical safety of all participants in collaboration with outside Athletic Trainers and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

» Administration: Administers and plans, in collaboration with club student leaders, all aspects of the hockey program adhering to Independent Women's Club Hockey League (IWCHL) league and department compliance. Communicates injuries and reports incidents to the Student Activities department. Presents at all on-campus or ?home? league games during regular season(s), as well as everyday practices (20 weeks total).

Qualifications required

»Prior practice coaching and playing competitive hockey (preferably college-level) required. Current participation in recreational league (as coach or player) preferred.

»Current status as a compliant USA Hockey coach with minimum Coaching Education Program completion or capability to obtain prior to the start of the season.

»Working expertise of IWCHL league bylaws and regulations or availability to obtain.

»Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

»Strong leadership abilities and organizational expertise.

»Strong interpersonal and communication expertise to effectively communicate with players

» capability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.

»Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.

» capability to function independently, display strong attention to detail, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
A resume detailing hockey practice is expected from each applicant, but a cover letter is not required.
The expected rate for this job offer is $25.00 an hour. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
