Job Description

Part Time Teachers will:

• Assist in planning and implementing activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of the children in the classroom. 
• Provide a balanced schedule offering all children the opportunity to experience active, quiet, individualized and group activities. 
• Provide Developmentally Appropriate hands on activities that encourage reasoning, creative expression, positive self-concept and language development. 
• Utilize appropriate classroom management techniques to promote positive social interactions. When speaking to children ensure that your tone of voice is appropriate and respectful. Teachers should be on eye level with a child. 
• Maintain a clean, healthy and organized classroom environment and surrounding areas such as Atrium Play Area, resource room and kitchen. 
• Stand in for the full-time teacher when he/she is out of the classroom for an extended period of time, such as illness, vacation, etc. 
• Serve snacks and prepare lunches for the children. 
• Communicate with parents and families with brief, positive feedback.
• Attend staff meetings and other program staff required trainings.
