We are growing and looking to add a professional to our team. All our appraisers are mentored by an experienced (MAI, SRA) appraiser and gain exposure to the appraisal delivery and reporting process in a comprehensive manner. At Valuation Services, you'll gain familiarity in the appraisal of a wide array of property types with various levels of complexity.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced real estate appraiser to perform property inspections, market research, and prepare high-quality appraisal reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to delivering within deadlines. The ideal candidate would be a residential appraiser looking to expand their work with complicated residential and commercial work. Successful candidates will be open to moderate levels of travel, display comfort in research, analysis, and report writing, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. Independent thinkers who are internally motivated and quick learners thrive at our firm.

Our office is in Valparaiso, and some in-office work is required. This will depend on your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections and gather relevant property data
  • Research and analyze real estate market trends and comparable properties
  • Prepare appraisal reports that comply with lender, USPAP, and client requirements
  • Communicate professionally with clients, property owners, and team members
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments efficiently

Qualifications

  • Certified Residential or Certified General Appraiser license (active and in good standing) EXPERIENCED TRAINEES MAY APPLY
  • Strong knowledge of industry software
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations (USPAP, FHA/HUD, GSE guidelines)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
